UBS Cash Equities is looking for a strong hands-on candidate to join the European Cash EQ Post-Trade Processing development team. Post-Trade services will be using high performance middle-tier technology developed in-house. It is written in Java and highly optimised for performance and high availability. You will be given the opportunity to work closely with the equity trading business in London to deliver the solutions they need.
You will be exposed to and gain experience to all areas of the European cash equities trading platforms. This is a very exciting overlap between technology and the business groups.
You will be expected to develop best of breed technology solutions as well as support and maintain the existing system.
You are a highly technical developer with a minimum of 5-7 years experience
Requirements:
• Strong Knowledge of Java Language
• Excellent understanding of the data structures and algorithms
• Multithreading
• FIX
• Unix
• Memory management
• TCP/IP including UDP, multicast, broadcast, NIO etc.
Useful skills:
• A background in C++/C is highly desirable
• SQL (preferably Oracle)
• Subversion
• Experience of managing & mentoring other developers
• Previous Front Office experience required

• Excellent communication skills are required – the successful candidate will communicate across the regions
• Strong team player prepared to take responsibility for tasks, and ownership of issues and you must be happy to support the production instances of the code you develop.
